Counselling & Grief Counselling
There are moments in life when you may face challenges, when the weight of what you're carrying becomes hard to bear alone. Trauma, anxiety, stress, grief, feeling overwhelmed or out of balance, or simply a quiet sense that something needs to change. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Counselling offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can reflect, make sense of your feelings, and begin to find your way through. As an integrative counsellor, I tailor every session to you, drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches including person-centred therapy, CBT, solution-focused therapy, and relationship counselling, and meeting you exactly where you are on your journey. We go at your pace, always.
Beyond the conversation, I work with the deeper layers, the patterns, beliefs, and emotional wounds that quietly shape how you experience yourself and the world around you. And for many people, those wounds are rooted in loss. Grief whether from the death of a loved one, a relationship breakdown, a health challenge, or a life that looks nothing like the one you planned has a way of touching everything. It reshapes your identity, your sense of safety, and your vision of the future in ways that can be difficult to put into words.
Grief is one of the most profound and misunderstood experiences a human being can move through. The world often expects us to grieve quickly and quietly, to hold it together and keep going. But grief doesn't work that way, and neither do I. Here, there is no timeline, no rushing, and no minimising of what you have lost. Your grief will be met with the depth and tenderness it truly deserves.
I understand loss not only as a qualified counsellor with specialised studies in grief and bereavement, I understand it from the inside. Widowed in 2006 at 35, and 12 weeks pregnant when I lost my husband Dan, I know what it means to have your entire world change in an instant. That experience is woven into everything I do. It led me to co-found Ever After Widowed, Australia's first online forum for young widows and widowers, and to co-author Wisdom from the Widowed. My own healing journey is what showed me that moving from surviving to truly thriving is possible and it is what drives me to walk beside others on that path.
Whether you are coming to counselling for grief, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, or simply a feeling that something needs to shift, clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like they're going around in circles and over time move towards clarity, emotional freedom, and a life that feels genuinely more like their own. Healing is possible. It is never too late to begin.
Every session begins with a warm, unhurried check-in so I can understand where you are and what you need that day. From there, we move into the work, always guided by you, always at your pace, always from a place of genuine care.
